Basque Country Biosphere Reserve
The Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve is a unique place that extends across the Oka River basin. This natural space has a great diversity of ecosystems and landscapes, including, among others, the Cantabrian oak forests, the Atlantic countryside, the coastal shoreline and the marshes.
The latter constitute the most important wetland in the Atlantic Basque Country and are an important resting area for birds during the different migratory periods and during wintering.
