Shepherd Patxi Solana invites us to share his daily life in one of the most impressive landscapes in Euskadi, the Urkiola Natural Park. During the experience, families share the daily chores of a shepherd: they milk the sheep, hand-feed the flock, make curds and talos… It is an incredible opportunity to spend a day in nature , surrounded by farm animals and Basque traditions.
The shepherd’s experience for a day begins at 10:00 in the morning, when the cheese/curd workshops begin. You will be able to make curds in the traditional and modern way, while learning about DO cheese Idiazabal. In addition, you can also taste them.
You will be able to be in direct contact with the farm’s animals: feed them by hand, caress them, learn to milk, etc.

Discover the craft of baserritarra in Elorrio
Learn about the craft of baserritarra and Basque rural life from theZenitaldekoa farmhouse in Elorrio, in an experience to feel nature and animals up close.
The Zenitaldekoa hamlet, in the Zenita neighborhood, 15 minutes (1 km) walk from the center of Elorrio, in a rural neighborhood that preserves old buildings, mills, laundries and also the Argiñeta necropolis, from the 7th-9th century, one of the most important funerary monuments of the Basque Country.
The visit consists of anactive tour of the farmhouse, the orchard and the stable, through which you will be able to know, live and feel different aspects of the baserritarra craft. At the end of the tour you can taste the artisanal yogurt that is made in this baserri with great care with the milk that their cows give.

La Granja de Vitoria: a family adventure
Do you want to become a farming family? La Granja de Vitoria, located on the Hueto Arriba farm (Vitoria – Gasteiz), organizes family visits to its farm, where the txikis can enjoy contact with the farm animals. The experience lasts approximately 1.5 hours and the txikis will receive a farmer’s diploma.
